TFW you get asked to join a science communication event (yay!) where people can ask any question (AMA, let's go!) but the format is that an AI answers first and then the 'expert' can discuss it. Why? 😭

I refused and said it was irresponsible: a crucial layer of the truth sandwich is missing here. I also mentioned that anchoring effect, automation bias, and bullshit asymmetry all work against the researcher in this format. 😩

Better late than never, the photos from Heart of Clojure 2019 (!) are finally online 😁 🙈

I guess the reason we never got around to this is that we give people the choice to wear a pink lanyard, which means they don't want to be in pictures... so I basically spent my morning playing where is Waldo and applying pixel blur effects to people's faces.

Was fun to go through these though, what great memories!

Another major space event today, far from Earth.

In a few hours, the ESA/JAXA BepiColombo mission will dump its solar electric ion propulsion module, MTM.

The eight year journey since launch has involved many planetary gravity assists & long arcs of continuous propulsion by MTM.

But that's now over & the European & Japanese science spacecraft, MPO & MMO, are preparing to enter Mercury orbit later this year.

I'll be at ESOC in Darmstadt again to watch today's event 🤞

Je voulais démonter le carénage de ma moto pour brancher un truc. Je demande donc à un moteur de recherche (Google) comment faire en précisant bien la marque et le modèle. J'ai une réponse IA par défaut qui semble cohérente. Je clique pour en savoir plus, c'était 100% du pipeau. Tout bien écrit, mais rien de vrai. Absolument rien.
J'ai fini par trouver sur Youtube après m'être bouffé de la pub, du slop et des tas de vidéos de crétins. Le Web est devenu de la merde et c'est triste...
